The BYUSTORE

Exciting things have been happening here in Provo. We at the former BYU Bookstore are excited for some big changes coming our way. We have officially changed our store name to byustore, but that's not all that's different!

Along with our new store name, we are working on an effort to rebrand, reach out, and reboot our store to better serve our guests. That's you!

Rebrand:

Exciting things are in store with our rebrand effort. The first step is that we are now the byustore. As well as the name change, our rebrand effort will include changing the look of the store in the next few months, working to make it more convenient and updated. Additionally, we will incorporate "Value Sales" areas BOTH in the store and online, so that you get the best deal no matter how you shop! Finally, We will be sponsoring more fun events at the store to create an exciting place to visit and shop, so that you have the best experience you can!

Reach Out:

We are now participating in a full-campus initiative to make it easier for BYU products to be purchased around the world. We plan to bring many BYU products, tickets, and services all to the byustore, which will act as a central hub in order to accomodate everything you might need in one place. We also are reaching out to partner with more campus departments at BYU and to be able to support all of our campus needs.

Reboot:

We are updating our website to make online shopping a more exciting experience for our guests. We are also preparing to serve a world-wide campus with enhanced online capabilities developed through our new website design.

What Can You Do with a Pilot G2?

Do you doodle?

You know,
those little loopty loops in the margins of your paper,
the comical stick figure sketches in the corner,
or the designs you create when your supposed to be taking notes in classes or meetings...
(Shhh! It's okay, we won't tell!)

If you are, then you are not alone! Many of us here at the BYU Bookstore are right there with you.  That's why, in honor and celebration of all the doodlers out there, we've created an exciting new contest!

*Ahem*

What Can You Do with a Pilot G2?

Here's the deal...
One of our employees (who is a big fan of Pilot pens) brought to our attention a discovery they had made while in class one day. They found that not only do Pilot G2 pens serve as great note-taking utensils, they also function nicely as art pens.

Intriguing.
Our interest was peaked.
Curiosity set in.

We had to know... was this true?

I mean, we already knew Pilot pens were awesome...if you don't believe us, take a look at this video:

But we want to know what you think!  That's why, starting March 3rd and running through March 17th, we are holding an in-store doodle competition to see what YOU can do with a Pilot G2, or any other of your favorite Pilot Products!

Here are the rules:

Note the three categories:
1) Most Creative
2) Kid-At-Heart
3) Staff Favorite

This means you don't have to consider yourself the next Da Vinci or Michelangelo. If stick drawings are your thing, roll with it! If you're particularly good at flowers but terrible at horses, that's fine! This contest is designed for ALL types of doodlers.

Also, when you've completed your entry, feel free to come in and put it in our drop boxes placed throughout the store!

(See? We've got it set up all nice for you!)

Make sure to also check out the awesome submissions we put up online!
You can find them on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BYUBookstore
As well as these websites:
www.woobox.com/abraji
www.woobox.com/cnqo2i
Don't forget to vote for your favorite entry!

As always, feel free to leave questions or comments below, we would be happy to address them! Or, if you feel like having your art displayed on our blog, let us know and we will see what we can do!

We hope you have a splendid day, and we leave you with just one request:

Show us what you can do with a Pilot G2!

Something To Do For Your Valentine!

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and will be upon us before you know it! So, the first question...
Do you have a Valentine?

If your answer is yes, then congratulations. We're happy for you!

If your answer is no, then no worries! You ROCK that single status!

Whichever way you answer, we hope you consider making some homemade Valentine's Day decorations this season! After all, the holiday only comes once a year. You see, Valentine's Day isn't reserved specifically for those people in relationships, it's a celebration of love! Love for your family! Your friends! Your significant other! Your dog or cat! Maybe your dog and cat! That pie in your refrigerator, or that book you're reading for the tenth time! Love comes in all forms, so here are some ideas from us to you on how to express that love to whoever or whatever you deem worthy of it.

Each Valentine idea below is made with materials that can be found in the School Supplies & Art Department of the BYU Bookstore! If you have any questions, comments, or feel like sharing with us who your Valentine is this year, feel free to post a comment below! We would love to here from you!
(See what we did there?)

We wish you luck,

Your friends here at the BYU Bookstore School Supplies & Art Department.

Annie Henrie

Annie graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degrees from Brigham Young University, and has been showing her work in galleries since the age of 16. Her work is now shown at the Bronze Coast Gallery in Cannon Beach, OR, Deseret Bookstores in various Utah locations, and the BYU Bookstore in Provo, UT. She just recently started showing work in Authentique Gallery in St. George, Utah.

Born in Manhattan, New York, Annie is the daughter of Cary and Sauni Henrie. Cary Henry, a well known illustrator and fine artist, has taught his daughter how to paint and draw since kindergarten, and has been inspiration for his daughter throughout her life.

The following are many of Annie Henrie's works, most of which can be found at the BYU Bookstore.
